There was an upscale gentlemen's club; a flamboyant house on the surface but in reality, it was the kind of place where secrets tended to be whispered in dimly lit corners. The joint was the source of some transmissions by a codename 'J.C.' Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary, but I couldn't ignore it. That's where I got the magazine."
He leans in, the shine on his helmet reflecting not only yourself but the intrigue of the story. "So, I found myself an informant, a male dancer who apparently had a knack for being too observant. The number on the magazine is the request line for his services. He told me about a peculiar customer – a man who'd saunter in towards the end of regular hours to use the facilities. He never indulged in the entertainment, just ordered the occasional drink."
The cowboy's voice drops to a hushed tone. "I noticed that this mysterious visitor's arrivals coincided with those transmissions. A bit of cross-referencing and tracing, and it led me here, to the unforgiving Antarctic wasteland, where I've been scouring for answers for the past week."
You turn the conversation back to your missing equipment. The cowboy shakes his head and replies, "I swear I didn't lay a hand on your gear. Someone else might have taken it when you were distracted... if you didn't lose it yourself, of course."
