>>5347611"Eilistraee, goddess of the Ilythiiri who inhabit this roofless world, bestow upon me your favor, that I might dispense bloody vengeance in place of your priestesses. I quest now to slay forth a river of red, to ensure the only remnants of Malar and his slaves in this place shall be their carrion and the lingering memory of their dying agony. My every kill will be as a sacrifice in the honor of you and your faith, if you would only show me some sort of sign." You whisper each word in your native language, silently fearing that you will be smitten on the spot for your insolence.
Fluttering through the air, a silver-tinged moth lands itself on your nose. You exhale sharply to blow it away, but the insect simply repositions itself atop your right shoulder. Again, you try to send the thing off, swatting at it with an open palm. The moth flutters through your fingers and nestles itself in your hair, much to your frustration. "D'aww. I guess it likes ya," chimes Willow, who observed the entire display. You scowl.
Nothing happens. You were neither destroyed where you stand nor given any sort of sign of the Dark Maiden's favor. In the end, you decide it must have been a wasted effort, and gesture at the immaculate corpse of the Ilythiiri woman. "Did you know her?" You ask Willow, who in turn squints at her. "'bout as well as I knew any of 'em, probly. They 'n' us, we only talked a little. This one, her name was Tal-... Talay-..." The priestess throws her hands up in frustration. "I jus' called her Tally. She led the rest of 'em, sure 'nuff. We promised we'd share the Silverwood. Wish she didn't go out like this."
You brush your finger against the blade of the woman's sword, suffering the same pain you did once before. Nursing your hand, you glance at your companion. "Can you take it?" Gripping it with both hands, Willow mightily pulls on the weapon's hilt; futile. Neither it nor the corpse budge at all, but the priestess did not seem to suffer any hurt in the slightest. Whatever the reason for this anomaly, it is the sort of question that none but a mage could answer.
