>Go see progress on the revitalization process (Greenhouse)
For all the intensity it had been for Rigek to pull a gun on you, you didn't feel like this was a reason to stop.
You still had things to do, visit the greenhouse the first in your priorities.
You left Cedalion to deal with the clean up and headed to the roof of the fortress.
Most of the hallways were still in disrepair, but they no longer were abandoned.
They felt lived in, perhaps it was an effect of removing debris and fixing the lighting.
Perhaps it was that they were no longer always in absolute silence.
You reached the roof and were momentarily dazed by the glimmering daylight.
The lab was somewhere else, but up here was a small shack and a gigantic greenhouse.
The glass panels were translucent and only showed dark green and gray stains from the inside.
You approached with good expectations.
Opening the door you were hit by a stream of hot air.
It was damp and the plants here had a range of strange shapes and even unhealthy colors at times.
Ash substrate covered most of the ground, from which gigantic mushrooms and green moss towers emerged.
In the center of the room, was Ghal.
Dressed in cloth that hid almost his entire body, he held a box of vials while he looked at a mushroom cap.
On it was Potato, diggin into the meat of the fungus and passing him some.
"Stop playing with the samples and give them to me." He complained to the young spriggan
"But look at them!" Potato lifted a strand from the center of the mushroom.
It contracted like a spring, blackening to ash after a few seconds.
After passing one more vial, Ghal saw you.
"Good morning Sirrr-,"He tried to stop himself, but couldn't "You've come to see our latest experiments, haven't you?"
"They are vile." The spriggan commented
"Ignore him, he doesn't like fungi. They are a good start to make use of the organic matter we have without sunlight.
There are real plants here but we are not done with them yet."
Ghal gave you a little tour of the place, showing you the varieties they had produced.
From small and eternal things to mushrooms that would create forests.
Also some insects that would live in the substrate.
At the moment they were concentrating efforts on creating something stable, not functional.
While Ghal told you about the progress, he showed concern.
"uhm, I have to warn you that this is dangerous." He said, looking at some copper mosses sealed in a glass box.
"Poison?"
"Not about these specifically, but everything. We are containing the experiments, but when we release them there will be no control.
Charon doesn't care what happens, but I fear changing the world for the worse."
"Hey! the mushrooms are eating the cactus!" The spriggan screamed from somewhere in the undergrowth.
"Excuse me, Anon. I have to deal with the kid." He took a deep breath and walk in the direction of the voice "Don't touch it yet."
