Plus, Al has to get some good poetry skills to attract her. The jiangshi was based on a poet and scholar of some renown named Miyako no Yoshika. Interestingly enough, Kasen's inspiration, Ibaraki-dōji, also loves poetry, so Al might get some poems under his belt.
However, there is a bit of a hiccup in that Ibaraki-dōji particularly liked Miyako no Yoshika's works. According to legend, the poet was improvising the first half of a poem while passing through the Rashomon gate in Kyoto, and a nearby oni, supposedly Ibaraki-douji, answered with the second half. And now the poet is a mindless jiangshi under Seiga. So make of that what you will.
