“So, miss Mona! I’m supposed to do the whole spiel on joining us for the greater good, but let’s skip the pleasantries, alright? We both know how this chat will end.” He stomps his foot on the ground, and every mirror in the golden throne room breaks, glass shards scatter over the previously pristine floor.
The Infinite Reflection smiles, he thinks you’ve made a mistake, that you were so vain that you wouldn’t take out items that obviously empower him. Of course, he would’ve realized how strange that was if he was in a normal state of mind, but you made sure that isn’t the case.
You give him your cutest smile. “Aww~ thought we were going to have a little heart-to-heart! Back in my days, men used to be so much more polite.” You teleport the bringer boy to you, and the agent raise an eyebrow.
“So that’s your plan?” He readjusts his sunglasses with one hand, and throws his cigarette in front of him with the other. The cigarette’s burning end multiplies before your eyes, and with one flick of his wrist, a torrent of flame advance towards you.
“Anyway, as I was saying, back in my days, men used to be more polite, and most importantly...” You tap the boy on his shoulder. “They always had the balls to show their face in a fight.”
Suddenly, the real body of the agent is brought in front of the flames. His eyes widen in surprise, but he reflects the flames before they reach him. He has good reflexes, but he’s clearly not used to fighting in person like this.
Bringing an entire person like this would normally be outside the bringer boy’s ability, but you managed to slowly but surely erode the agent’s soul with every encounter you had with him. Of course, he only used his reflections, but his soul was still linked to each of them, so you were able to affect him by proxy. You have to admit, this was a gamble, there was a very real chance this wouldn’t have worked, but if there’s one thing you excel at, it’s calculated risks.
A few dozens of his reflections appear to cover for his real self, he’s not trying to escape, which means the greed you’ve implanted unto him a few months ago is working as intended. The most reasonable thing for him to do is to get out of here after all, and you don’t think you’d be able to stop him if he tried.
Anyway, all you can do is stall and hope he’s dumb enough to not notice the constant strain on his soul that this place is creating. He’s used to reflecting everything, but you can’t reflect something that comes from inside. It’s unlikely he noticed the very air he’s breathing has been claimed by you.
Attacks come from all sides, but using the boy as a living shield makes them back off when you can’t simply dodge them. Even so, you have to sacrifice about twenty souls just to keep yourself alive, as some of his attacks are straight up unavoidable. If you weren’t in a place you own, he would’ve torn you to shred in seconds.
