>>5663356>You understood what she was doing. Regardless of Rex’s own individual skill, Ingrid wished to spare you the pain of having to fight against someone you used to call your brother. And while it was true that she would have a greater chance against him than you would, together you’d be a force to be reckoned with. “Thank you, Ingrid. However, Rex and I have some matters to settle. Perhaps it would be better for us to take him down together. I would be delighted to have you by my side. I know he would not hesitate to play dirty, so fighting him together is only fair, don’t you think?”Ingrid gives you a sympathetic look, but ultimately does not offer any protest. “Very well. I don’t need you to tell me about the Hellwings. I’ve lost many of my own comrades to them in the past. We’ll work together and take them down. The skies belong to us today, Blair.”
>You gain a B-Support with Ingrid!“Look, something’s happening!” Diana exclaims.
You sensed it before she could even speak. A surge of magical energy emanating from the Imperial camp. From this distance, it could be only one thing: siege magic. Several fireballs suddenly appear in the sky above the ruins the Empire is using as their base. They hover in the air, growing larger and more numerous, before they split into two groups and begin sailing towards their intended targets. The first wave strikes the Alliance Army head on, exploding upon contact and kicking up a mountain of dust and earth. The second wave heads straight for where Dimitri and the Kingdom’s infantry currently are. Before the fireballs can land on their targets though, you see a bright blue flash come from the area in question. The fireballs suddenly explode in mid-air, as if colliding with an invisible wall. The Kingdom’s army stands strong, having been barely affected by imperial siege magic.
“The Rafail Gem.” Ingrid says from next to you. “The Hero’s Relic of Lamine, currently in possession of Mercedes. It allows her to greatly nullify enemy attacks. To think she’d gotten so adept with it that she could even block the enemy’s siege magic. She can be really scary when she wants to…”
Horns begin blaring from each side of the battlefield. You can hear Dimitri’s voice over the noise, amplified by magic to reach the rest of the army. He has no rousing speech or motivation to share before the battle begins. True to his fashion, his announcement to the army is simple and to the point.
“Kill every last one of them!”
The Faerghus Army, which up to this point had acted as if it were made up of shambling husks, erupts in an ear shattering roar. They begin to move forward, with Felix and his vanguard at the tip of the spear.
“That was totally scary…” Diana says next to you. “I knew that the Empire had strong mages, but I’ve never seen anything like that. They would have burnt us to a crisp before the fight even started!”
