>>5280672>”Anything I should know about either of them?”“Well, both of them are reputable institutions, so we want to tread lightly with dealing with them,” Caesar says.
“Yūshūkan is way older though,” Saemonza warns. “Over a hundred years older.”
“By law, we’re also meant to hand in valuable finds like this as soon as we can,” Erwin adds. “And both museums will know that, and if they wanted to either could force the issue quickly.”
“Force it how?”
“By going through the courts,” Oryou replies. “They could force us to hand everything over to them in exchange for suitable compensation.”
“Courts take time though,” Saemonza muses. “So, we’d know and have time to do something in response.
“How likely are they to do that?” You ask,
“No idea,” Erwin shrugs. “But it’s probably not a good idea to anger them.”
“Yeah, staying on their safe side is probable our best bet.”
“I think Yūshūkan will be able to offer us more,” Caesar says. “Given they’re the first and oldest museum in Japan.”
“They’re liable to be more…difficult as well,” Erwin says. “Since you know, they can get away with it.”
“And Kure?”
“Well, they’ll be less formal, but they’re also smaller and less influential,” Erwin says. “So, what they offer in exchange will also be less.”
“Right, got it,” you nod before checking your watch. “We should get moving if we want to get to Ooarai on time.”
“Let’s,” Caesar nods. She stands, and the other three History Buffs stand with her. The five of you pay for your drinks and leave.
The carrier is in dock for the weekend, so getting into Ooarai is easy. The five of you walk down the gangway and head for the closest bus stop. Ten minutes later, you’re in Ooarai proper, headed towards another coffee shop for the meeting with Kure’s representative.
You spot them instantly. The suited man looking very out of place in what’s obviously meant to be a trendy place.
