>SEARCH FOR BENJAMIN AARON'S APARTMENT
Alright, so you know it has to be "high up". But it also has to be close enough for this "Izanata" type to hear an argument. She's on the first floor, so maybe one or two floors above that?
You glance over at your allies. "Lex, follow me to the third. Alexis, explore the second. We're searching now."
"I don't have any better ideas." Alexis reluctantly responds.
"Hell yeah! Enough waiting around, let's get to it!" Lex is far more receptive to the prospect.
Before you do, however...you decide to fuck with the Landlord. You focus on the mag in his hand as you clench your fist. A glow only perceivable by you surrounds the magazine. And with a small flick of the wrist, you send it flying.
Normally, the effort of ripping an object right out of someone's hand would make your mind ever so more fractured (compared to moving it if it was unattended), but-
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!" The landlord yells out when he sees his magazine flying away, landing a solid 10 feet away from him. He scrambles over his desk like a man possessed, desperate to get it back.
Alexis and Lex turn around at the commotion. You look back at them with a shrug.
[UNSTABLE] THEY WON'T KNOW YOU DID IT. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW EASILY YOU CAN RIP THEM LIMB FROM LIMB.
[UNSTABLE] GOOD. KEEPS YOUR CARDS TO YOUR CHEST. YOUR POWER. YOU ARE <span class="mu-s">BEYOND THEM</span>, NICOLE.
"Guess he might've let it slip from his hands?" You chirp out.
"I-I guess? How does it slip THAT far away, though?" Alexis tilts her head.
"Pft, who cares?" Lex tries his best to hide his giggling fit. "He deserves it. <span class="mu-g">If shit like this happens if I stick around, Nicky, hoo. It's gonna be a good day.</span>"
>Rapport with Lex has increased slightly! Keep him entertained and he might become a more useful ally.
"Alright, enough fun though. Let's find that stupid apartment." Lex claps his hands. Without anything else to do (aside from watching the landlord cling to his magazine), you head up to the third floor with Lex while Alexis checks out the second floor.
Once you arrive? A grey hallway with grey doors lining both of the walls. It's always grey with this apartment, isn't it? Your eyes nearly glaze over before Lex slaps you on the back. Right, apartment.
[PERSON OF INTEREST] He was a runner. He would stay close to the exits.
That might be too obvious, so you point to the right side of the hallway. "Check those doors. Tell me if anything's off."
"Alright, boss."
You start checking the doors on the left door, taking a close look of the doors to see if there's anything that stands out in the grey hellscape of an apartment. You almost wonder if you're somehow in an anomaly's den or something.
>COGNIZANCE ROLL: 13. SUCCESS!
You almost walked passed another door when you look down at the ground. There's a tiny splatter of something <span class="mu-r">red</span> on the ground. You turn around to look at where it leads to.
