The two men were huddled around the corner, each of them peering into what was a museum of mayhem and insanity. It felt as though the sight of these creations were itching at the head of Lucian even through there was no magic directed at him.
It was the simple sight of this… hellpit… that struck such feelings in the Knight.
“What the hell are you doing?” Wigmar said to Lucian as the Knight rose to his full stature, “Those rats will find you fast if you’re standing like that.”
“Let them.” Lucian said as he felt the burning anger of a dwarven god rest its power upon his chest, “I am not going to sneak about like the rats they are, trying my best not to heed the horrors that I am seeing.”
“Are you insane?” The Imperial asked, “Are you going to galavant up to these monsters and cut each of them down!?”
“What else do you suggest? To sneak around and lie in ambush is the way of Liars, Cheaters, and Fools.” Lucian declared as he remembered back to his lessons, “To fight against your foe outright, to face them with a blade held at the ready, that is how you fight. It is what tales are made of.”
“No one is going to be around to tell your damned story if you die here!” The whisper of Wigmar was becoming harsh as he tried ot contain his anger, “You damned Bretonnians and your honor! Who is here to even witness it besides us!”
“The Gods.” Lucian said as he took a step forward. As metal came upon stone it seemed to shout across the room with ten times the force than any of their voices could, “Morr, Grimnir, and the Lady of the Lake all watch over me at this moment, Imperial. They have sent us both down into the depths of this damnation with the clear intent that we should slaughter them all.”
The Imperial looked upon Lucian with an expression Lucian had never seen directed against him. Eyes wide, he looked almost blank in expression that showed only wonder at those words.
“Light this for me at least and then flee. You can escape in the chaos I am to bring.” Lucian said to the stunned man.
The man grew a slim smile as he took out that weird wand of his and took a piece off it. He then struck it against his sword and sparks flew, lighting the torch. Then he reattached the weapon and drew his sword.
“Fine, let's make the Gods happy.”
