You need your priorities straight, that’s why you’re going to do something not related to your plans. You deserve to take things at your own pace.
“I need a shower first.” You spend too much time grinding… “But after that, I was thinking about us visiting my liar sister.”
“Let’s do it. The best time for the heist is when the sun isn’t peeping.” Crossbill likes the idea of detouring.
“I’ll see you in a minute!” You need a towel.
…
After a quick — but thorough — shower, you’re ready to pay a visit to your sister this early Sunday morning. You’re confident she’s going to be ready to welcome with open arms. That’s the duty of all family members: to expect the unexpected! But you’re not planning to catch her off guard, no, you have texted her... Too bad you aren’t going to wait for a response and she lives downstairs!
You knock on Nariko’s apartment door with Crossbill by your side. Unsurprisingly, Amelia answers the door.
“Hey, Johnny… how is it going?” The Sleepy Amelia scrubs her eyes. “Why are you here so early…? I’m the only one awake.” For some odd reason, this feels like deja vu.
“I’m here to introduce you to my bestie: Crossbill! I met her in the Bubble if you remember all that.” You do the jazz hands to showcase the bird. “Crossbill, this is just Ame.”
“Hey, how is it going? Woah, she’s like half of you! Like a stumpy Johnny!” Crossbill is impressed by how petite your sister is.
“I’m not stumpy!” Amelia shakes her head, all offended.
“You’re very stumpy, Ame. Admit it.” You shake your head.
“Aww… I don’t want to be stumpy…” Typical Stumpy Ame response. She kicks the air with her tiny legs.
“Let’s lay off the jokes for a sec, you kinda remind me of someone.” Crossbill finds the silly bear familiar.
“Me. She’s my sister. That’s usually how genetics works.” You deadpan.
“Someone else, genius. Hmm, I shouldn’t have brought this up if I didn’t have a follow-up.” Crossbill wants to pick her words more carefully.
