The Hive continues to ruminate, discuss, and sometimes have a worried laugh about getting Remnant. 'Intent matters'. Well, some of the Hive definitely have little moral issues with hurting people, with children not much of a taboo. A select few embrace the idea, while most of the Hive reacts with disgust.
A lot less are outright decrying the idea of harming a child altogether though... You move to the Kitchen, and see JJ has just put her broom against the wall, the Kitchen tidied up as well as it can be given the destruction it has taken over the week.
<statement>Great work, JJ, this'll make the Day a bit brighter.
JJ nods, her voice almost back to its chipper Day self.
>"That helped, a lot-Cleaning is a pretty big subroutine, it's nice."
You pat her head, and look outside to the Jungle Gym and dying Playground. The Hive goes quiet, and discussions slowly come to a very strained consensus.
<request>JJ, we're going to go outside briefly to check the wood, could you stay here a short while?
>"Yes, Sir.”
Most of the Hive isn't proud of what they're going to do, but if Corporate was serious about those thinly veiled threats...
After checking for the Canine outside, you feel safe enough, and while JJ is good at her craft...there's still plenty of glass from the shattered window to pocket.
It's... a baby step forward, layering the bottom of the slide with glass. You try to get some larger shards but JJ is in this instance, annoyingly meticulous.
The Jungle Gym... That's the big one for attracting crowds, and you can't imagine it not netting someone. Glass won't work as easily here, you'd need razor blades.
Inspiration strikes!
The fun zone is composed mostly of thin metal tubes (cheaper, you suppose) rather than solid. You take the Knife from your Whip-Blade and halfway up, away from immediate visibility, cut the pipe open and slowly carve it inward.
Three sharp 'razor blade' grips well above the height of the average elementary schooler. Some cut fingers, maybe a broken rib if they fall wrong, a concussion... It's not as bad as-
No, it's pretty fucking despicable but it's nicer than bleaching sodas or dragging someone into the woods to knife them to death.
A member of the Hive starts to mention a bio-terror attack around food poisoning in the 1900s as the rest of the Hive stops arguing to insist they aren't poisoning the food, while another portion argues that this is too much and to tape over it now while there's still time.
What fucking tape-?-The other portion of the Hive argues, and the Hive tells the Hive to be done with it. This is it, a step had to be taken, and it has. If the Octopus Thing was a sign of what's to come if Remnant isn't manufactured, then some kids have to bleed.
That simple.

Sunrise approaches.
