Nonetheless, a part of you cannot help feel that you have already seen much better - as beautiful as Finlay's home is, it pales in comparison to what you saw at the Beach House, at the Elbridge Colony Arts Fellowship Residency. A part of you now sees Finlay as being somewhat diminished, inadequate.
If Finlay is surprised by the presence of Annabel, and Charlene, alongside so many of her acquaintances (QM: black people) gathered around his front driveway, he doesn't show it. Instead, he offers a wry welcoming smile, and extends his arms in invitation:

-Hey, I certainly didn't expect such a following to turn up! I am always surprised by popularity, I guess Super Vampire Basher (SVB) has so many more fans than I could ever imagine (Finlay glances at Bishop and Lou) - it is all about the fans, the support of the community, I guess you guys bailed us out, your enthusiasm is what made this TV series happen! And you have all arrived at just the right time; we're still brainstorming ideas for the pilot episode, it would be great to get feedback from the fan audience, the direction we are taking this franchise, especially around the casting decisions - Annabel, Charlene and friends, you're all welcome - do you want to come in? Oh, and when we all sit down together, I'll tell you the story about how Charlene and I met (QM: you see Charlene suppress a slightly nervous and guilty look of embarrassment-panic; Annabel appears utterly impassive, emotionless; Bishop is perplexed, suspicious, as Finlay continues with his cheerfully dismissive anecdote) you see, it was at this poetry reading, don't look so shocked, there is still some culture left in this city! And Charlene here - I didn't know she was a literature student or anything at the time - she got up and gave this breathtaking recital, just this amazing monologue, how did it go again?...
