>>5477167>Whereas the Phalanx is purely human origin and makes an excellent case study for him.Indeed, that's the big part. It was built by humans. He could theoretically speak to its dormant machine spirit, or at least access records or make deductions on how such massive things were built.
And why not try and apply some of that to our Blackstone Fortress? The 40k Imperium just strapped on massive amounts of additional armor plating, void hive structures for millions, ecclesiarchal temples, and gigantic weapons batteries over its smooth surface. And they did this for all six of them. Surely it wouldn't be too much to upgrade one in honour of our Machine God, blessing it with his sacred symbols, runes and weapons.
I forget what scale QM said he wanted to do for the the Blackstone Fortress and Phalanx in regards to its size, but IIRC we are doing the novel scale rather than the video game scale where the Fortress is the size of a "small moon". Which makes sense because Guilliman was able to send the Terran Crusade Fleet through its webway portal, and it also held entire Chaos fleets inside itself. That includes sending in the Macragge's Honour so it had to be quite large.
Pic related are examples for the BF's scale compared to a Battleship, from 360km to 1100 km (1/3 the size of the Earth's Moon)
