>>5336781Wasn't she the successor to Aunt Peng? Wasn't she supposed to be Heaven's chosen? Why would they abandon her? Why did they leave her for someone else? Shun quietly despaired at the possibilities in silence, the spinster's concern placed beneath her notice as Shun resolved to commit to an action she knew would be controversial. There was only one way to answer the questions that burned at the core of her heartache.
"Head for the west." Shun muttered.
"Your highness?"
"We march for the western continent." Shun repeated, her voice growing more resolute. "Send the announcement to all of my generals, they have 24 hours to prepare themselves and their armies. Have the court begin securing a route to the Western Continent. We march for the Cord."
"B-but your highness. What about your empire? Your dynasty is yet young!"
"One year, a thousand years, or one day, it is still a dynasty that can be subjected to the cycle of the heavens. As long as the Cord stands my domain will fall one way or another." replied Shun, the queenly mask fully fixed on her face.
"Empress Shun, do you surely mean to head directly to the Cord?"
"No. There are obstacles in my path, namely the Defiant."
"First, we shall secure a route to the west. Then we retrieve the Sage and the Arbiter, then deal with the Defiant. And finally after the Defiant is dealt with, we head for the Cord."
Shun paused as she took note of her personal appearance before she added one addendum to her order: "AND GET ME SOME CLOTHES!"
