The Omnissiah wished to continue his recovery, to attempt to bring back the forces that were the only thing keeping back the forces of Chaos from infesting the Imperial Palace and making all the labors every human has placed into the Imperium a Waste.
As he floated in search of another soul he noticed something at the corner of his vision. A small raven-like bird who should not have been so deep in the warp. Another second’s worth of study revealed the bird to be a crow of modestly unusual size to the understanding of the divine being. He then realized, in the next second, that crows of terra had been extinct upon terra since AI had rebelled against mankind.
It was this thought that caused an Omnissiah Axe to appear within the hands of the Prophet and attempt to strike the now transforming bird that was now materializing into what was a giant creature of death and murder.
Its talons were as long as a human’s arm and death the size of hands. It appeared with a gaping jaw that was obviously meant for the sheer pleasure of killing instead of anything more practical. Even Nurgle’s minions, as grotesque and sickening as they were, did not break from the conventions of evolution nearly as much as the creature who was now bearing its death at the Omnissiah was.
The Master of Machines was quick and brought the hilt of his axe to deflect three of the dozen tentacles that were approaching him in rapid succession. He failed to get all the strikes he wished and felt his body stabbed several times at a single side by the creature’s arm length nails. As it tried to go in for the kill though the Omnissiah quickly brought his weapon and sliced half a foot deep into the maw that was about to eat him whole.
While fiendish in making and form the creature still suffered from pain. It quickly released the Omnissiah and used whatever could be counted as Gravity to drift itself downwards. The Divine Prophet tried to go down and follow up with a strike at the creature but instead of his blade meeting its flesh the Daemon sprouted a pair of avian wings just like the crow that it was before.
“You don’t bleed.” The Daemon said as it inspected its talons for any sign of blood, “Khorne would have been sad to see a creature like you, but I do not care. Something does not need to bleed to die.”
As the Daemon spoke the Omnissiah prepared himself for another bout. As he looked upon the ever changing form of the creature the Omnissiah knew instantly what it was.
It was Drach'nyen, the personification of Murder. A mockery of his brother, the Night Bringer, but still a formidable foe.
