>>6148638>“Back off, this prey is mine alone. I require no assistance.” You step forward, axe in hand, ready to do battle with Nadia’s construct. None of your party members voice any protest or objection. They knew by now how you operated. This was a chance to see how you fought from the outside. You saw this as a once in a lifetime opportunity presented to you, and you would not allow anyone to spoil the fun.“Sounds good to me!” May says with palpable relief. “I’ll be watching from waaaay back there. You’ve got this, boss! Go get em’!”
As your party members back off to give you space, the construct stands upright. It glowers at you alone, ignoring your companions. You believe your hunch about it respecting a one-on-one duel was correct. Putting yourself in its shows, you imagine that it had been driven bored by the Riahi after having slaughtered them, and was roaming around awaiting a new challenger. The construct’s cloak opens, revealing a large axe stained red, which it holds in both its skeletal hands. You recognize it as the same type of weapon those brothers had been using. Had it had the intelligence to plunder a weapon for itself?
>Construct>Level 24HP: 51

>Skill: Resolve (When HP falls to less than 35% (17), Strength, Speed and Defense increase by 7)>Weapons: Steel Axe (+12 Attack)>Spells:Fire (+3 DMG, 5 Uses)

Combat Art: Earthsplitter: Cleave all enemies standing two rows in front of you. (Cost: 1 Crest of Indech Charge)
Despite the lack of facial features, you’re able to sense…recognition from the creature? Perhaps it was just your imagination, and you were merely projecting onto this simulacrum of yourself. But it was as if you felt some sort of excitement emanating from it. The construct lifts its axe. Standing there in the darkness, covered in blood, it looked like a ghastly figure from a child’s nightmare. The sort of reaper one heard about only in ghost stories, that claimed mens’ souls and brought only death and despair with it.
So, this is what it was like to face you down? You almost felt momentarily bad for your enemies.
>A): Take the first swing on the construct. (What do you do?)>B): Allow the construct to attack you first. (How do you retaliate?)
