This formation demands an amount of fine control you never had to exert before. You make it a daily, hourly occurence of trying to spin a couple threads in the right shape.
Of course, your first attempts are complete failure - first time you try to put way too much threads, overcharging your eyes with energy, resulting in a painful afternoon spent in the research of a dim environment.
But you soonly get the hang of that technique. Soon, you can see the other kid's aperture - in heart in red, eyes in blue, nose in purple, ears in green, mouth in yellow. Second stage kids' cultivators Dantian are overshaded by the blue pools of energy of their minor realms. Third stage masters shows one bright red line, from left palm to the Heart Aperture.
This seems to indicate they are stuck in their cultivation - Ryota got 4 of such lines, burning even brighter as a rope in fire. In addition, two of his bones are purple : those must be the minor realms of 4th Realm.
You also see something you didn't paid attention previously : adult low-skilled cultivator of first or low second realm working as servants.
They clean, cook, trim the sect's garden. You barely noticed them before. Probably poor skill or luck cultivators, winnnig their daily bread working for the branch.
