You decide to use the free fabricator to create a Battleaxe. With sharpened metals and made of (expensive) alloys, it's very strong and powerful. While technically dueling axes are dulled for use in actual practice, a real one would be sharp and used as a weapon, much like how your magazine says. After all, you have no intentions of actually using it. It's just for fun. Most people in the Hegemony don't have cool stuff like this to display or own, especially not weapons. It isn't illegal for you to have or anything, it would just likely be denied due to not having much practical use, so this is a special opportunity to do something for yourself. You feel like you've earned it.
Why make it then? You just think it's cool.
Over the next few days, you reconnect with Forja as well. As your friend, he is grateful for you saving him, though he doesn't understand how you carried him down the stairs. You told him you don't remember either. Maybe you just let him hit his head on the way down.
”Hah, good one! Like how I'm gonna hit you in boxing practice today.”
”No way.”
You're getting a lot better. A bruised Forja taunts you.
”Just because you got a military lanyard first doesn't mean I'm not gonna surpass you. When I'm a leader of a tactical Redstripe Commando unit, then you'll be way behind me. I'll beat you at any tactic sim then, you hear me Hoik!?”
”Heh, good luck!”
With a spirit of friendly competition, you can finally go home that day feeling good. Everything is back to normal again... plus a little extra. It's nice.
