>>5240731You had sat down and allowed Fowley and Blacksteel to discuss the potential of the trade, at least to humour each other or maybe even to find something to trade with each other. Soon it was clear that arms and armour were outside the potential purchases of Tarren Mill, but the apple cider and other food products that lasted long could be exported.
This discussion did last for some time and you enjoyed some tea the clerks had brought to all of you as you listened and sometimes said something to either add to the discussion or when prompted.
In the end Garrick Blacksteel and Mayor Fowley didn’t manage to agree on anything specific, but it did seem that there was some common ground between these two businessmen. The problem just was the distance between Tarren Mill and Blackrock Mountain.
And when it was time for the Dark Iron dwarf to leave, he bowed to both you and Mayor Fowley gratefully. It did feel like you had helped him somewhat. And after Blacksteel had left the office, you changed your seat and sat opposite Mayor Fowley.
“I don’t know what you are after by introducing me to that dwarf Prince Alric, but it was good that you did so. We might have some trade and profit at our hand.” Mayor Fowley said and continued. “But why are you here?”
“I was in Strahnbrad Hills and I have plenty to talk about.” You said back.
You told him what you had learned while keeping some details untold like the participation of the Syndicate in Stonedon, but you did tell him about the village and the threat it faces in terms of the new bandits in the region. You made it clear that Strahnbrad Hills were facing a change and it would either be you or the bandits who stood victorious in the end.
“So you are saying that the new bandits are attempting to gain control of the hills?” Mayor Fowley said.
“Yes, as I said they have been strong arming other groups to join them.” You said back to him.
“Are you sure about this?” Mayor Fowley asked you.
“Have I lied to you before?” You answered and leaned forward.
Mayor Fowley nodded a few times as he realized the truth in your words before answered.
“Good point. Then what do you suggest? This is a grave concern to Tarren Mill, but we don’t exactly have the military or the troops to support you that much.” Mayor Fowley said back.
