Your eyebrow twitches as you run the numbers on Breaker’s final request. Even if you keep it to the very youngest, babes and toddlers and the like, that’s still going to perhaps double the number of transports needed get everyone out in one go, or necessitate a second and even riskier trip assuming the first run makes it through unscathed. And then the added strain that an extra hundred or so little mouths to feed will have on the supply situation. What if the LT’s estimate of waiting it out in the Salayun Depression is too optimistic? How much more risk does that add, stealing yet more supplies from your new hiding spot?
