>>6129936As soon as you think this to her, you feel relief and reassurance flood through your granddaughter. You keep your worry to yourself, carefully not letting any of it slip through the mental link. She doesn't need to worry herself with this, she's just a kid who almost lost her dad. But now you have someone else to talk to, and urgently.
“Be good for your dad, and let him know I called, okay?” you tell her.
“I will! Will you be coming back soon?” she asks, you thinking it over for a moment.
“I'm going to be a bit busier than usual, but I will do my best.” you reply, feeling her happiness at knowing you'll be by soon. “When you all come up next time, you'll get to see what I've been up to.”
“Ahhh, a secret! What is it?” she asks immediately, you chuckling a bit to yourself. “Wait, no. Don't tell me, I want it to be a surprise!”
“I won't tell.” you reply. “But I've got to go now, see you soon kiddo.”
“Bye grandpa! Love you!” she replies, your granddaughter then ending the mental link happy. Sighing out, you wish you could have been there to reassure her before. So, with what you now know, you reach out to Caulifla, connecting her mind to your own.
“Cauli, we need to talk.” you think, your daughter answering immediately.
“Is everything alright? I sensed your battle, are you okay?” she replies, worried for you. But it's not you that's the worry.
“Can you head over? We need to talk about something.” you tell her, your daughter immediately understanding. And without waiting to answer telepathically instead she simply appears before you a moment later. However, as she does, you realize something. She didn't use Instant Transmission, as you hadn't sensed her ki before appearing. Whatever she did was even faster, almost like the same technique Kars uses. “Hey. First thing's first, this thing got hit with Abyss. Any recommendations?”
