>>5539927Okay you’ve had enough. “Well, you have been rather concise with this, Dabura. It’s well-spoken and it does seem fair. But I feel like you’re kinda dancing around some of the concerns we have.”
Towa glares at you. “Maple, are you really going to let your daughter be your mouthpiece in this?” she talks past you, seemingly telepathically throwing that to your mom while still making sure you can hear it, contempt in her voice. And you notice that she gets a reply. One that angers her further.
Dabura though stays cordial. “Now now, sister. Then enlighten me, young one. What are your concerns?”
“Well to start with, if you go through with this civil war, you’ll be too busy to bother us anyway. Before, after, not so much. But during it? You’d be selling us something we would already have.” you point out. “Next is what happens if you do win and gain all that power. Suddenly, Towa’s got a lot more she can throw at us, at her choosing, potentially with your backing. What are you actually willing to put on the table that shows we don’t have to worry about that? And before you answer, you’re also approaching this with the assumption you’ll win this. If we make a deal with you, agree to leave you all alone, but Beelzebub’s faction comes out on top, that’s a bad look for us.”
You notice that Dabura… actually, genuinely smiles at these inquiries. “My, you Tuffles are as clever as I’ve been led to believe.”
“Tuffle, Saiyan, and most importantly, Earthling.” you correct. “Lastly, why does this even have to be a war? There’s got to be another solution beyond setting out to kill each other, some truce you can try to make with them, right? You’re clearly smart enough to come up with something.”
Prince Beelzebub looks at you with an apologetic smile. “While I appreciate that, Peppa, even I know that’s not going to dissuade them.”
