Now, it's time to do the final work order personally. With some assistance, of course. But not before doing something else.
[DYING LIGHT] And you have something to talk to him about. It's better in person.
You notice your two assistants locking eyes right before you open the airlock leading outside. You decide to leave them to do whatever they do while you're gone.
Good thing you don't have to wait for an elevator to go anywhere since the anomaly in question is on the first floor. Standing outside of Containment Cell C is your comrad- your friend. He waves over at you.
"Long time no see, eh?" Felix cracks a shit eating grin. Rare, considering his usual demeanor. "Ready to get this over with?"
"Well, I rather talk about what happened last hour before we start. So there's no distractions during the work order."
"Oh?" Felix crosses his arms. "What about, Zet?"
>Admin: Tell F about your talk with Phi as well.
"It's about Phi. I felt like you should know what happened during it."
"Shit, why didn't you say so? Go ahead. I like hearing when you talk." Felix tries his best to flash a casual smile. It doesn't really fit his deadpan tone of voice.
"She said a lot of things. Some of which I had a hard time processing." You tap the side of your head. "Apparently I was a mentor to her. Color me surprised."
"Pft, wait, that's why she was going goo-goo over you? Wow. What else?"
"Said the same thing you did about me being deflective, something about me using the term 'R-Company dog', and about me being...really happy about my job?"
"Mmh. Well, the first one and the third one track. Never once heard you complain about R-Company back then." Felix shrugs, leaning his back against the wall. "Never got why you were into work as much as you were."
"I suppose someone has to keep the lights on at the end of the day. No offense but I doubt any of the employees would be a suitable replacement."
"Eh, wrangling dozens of people becomes a real headache. I forget they even have names half the time. I just use M2 or S2, it's quicker."
"For official documents, I suppose I agree." You lean against the opposite wall towards Felix. "Another weird thing she said was the ETFs kept being sent out more often because of a lack of anomalies?"
"Yeaaah, Neutralization work orders were a thing. I'm glad you haven't done them."
[BOUND BY DUTY] That sounds vaguely familiar. You don't like the term. It tastes of inefficiency.
"Huh, that's the term?"
"Mmh. I think I had to do one back in the day. Had to do my job." There's no hint of remorse in his tone. Though there's no glee either.
"The previous Admin was a bitch." You mutter without even thinking. You head over to the airlock, ready to enter and get this over with.
"Oh. One more thing, does a board game or ball of shadow ring a bell?"
"Nope, if you're talking about anomalies." Well that's a dead end there. "I'll wait for you outside, alright?"
You nod. You open the airlock...
