''I'm not so sure myself. Emotions are the most darn things, aren't they? When I played with you back in the Iron Kingdom, Arawn, the ending you got was to flee with your beloved through the mines and exit into the wilderness... instead Armin ruined that. You have no idea how frustrated that made me: you earned your ending fairly and that bastard robbed us of a well-earned satisfaction. Granted, I would have swallowed an interruption if things would have ended on a better note... Tragedies are overrated.''
That is not at all how you felt back then, being toyed by some super-powerful creepy, ghostly fox-woman was making your paranoid young self insane. However, could this flimsy, chaotic mess of a witch have a code? Or is she simply upholding her self-imposed rule precisely because she's so powerful?
''Then, in Throne Town...'''
''I was just trying to reconnect, honest. I wasn't playing anything, I just thought of trying to give you a little heads-up about what was going to happen.'' Ama answer you quickly. You've successfully snuck another question. ''A witch is a being of glamour and secret... The Swamp isn't my home, darlings. The place we are going to is exactly that, I've never invited anybody before and I must say, those seventy pearls were well spent. So, to give a clear answer, I honestly don't know what I'll do after today!''
Gods damn it all, is she being truthful...?
''Are you going to tell me that Ama-no-Uzume, the great witch of contracts, doesn't bestow gifts of blood magic to her supplicant?''
Ama stops climbing and turns around, looking at you with this damnably smug smirk...
''I -did- answer Banu pleas.'' Is her answer and up she goes again, taking the lead in climbing this endless set of stairs.
''Will the people... no, will our allies be safe when we return?'' Shereen says after thirty full minutes of silence. By now, your ascent had obfuscated the massive angelic host, leaving all three of you in a lonely world of dull white.
''Alas, emptying Zerase stash of pearls did nothing in improving the health of our darlings. We'll have to do what we can for Elina, Hao, and Sieglinde, once we return. I do promise to help in this endeavor if you'll have me after your reward of course.'' Polite, gentle, patient. This fox isn't acting as you'd expect for someone who worked so hard in creating a satisfying game.
Hasn't she won? And ''we''? She's planning on sticking around?
''We'll be here...'' She continues, reaching forward. ''...now.'' She adds with finality. The stairs changed into a small pathway of five tiles that Ama boldly stepped onto. She reached into the brilliant abyss and opened a piece of it like a door as if this infinite white was nothing more than a wall!
It led somewhere strange, a brilliant night sky with a white soil better illuminated than whatever you stood onto in this ''Origin''. The stars shone nicely from this side of the door. Where in the world is this?
