'Shennu.' I asked my comrade sister as we strode down the roads up north. 'Do you know anything about Jenk personally?'
We were in a region known as the "Giantsdale Approach". It was because this was the part of Siegesia that was closest to the hinterlands of Aflheimr, Bedolfir's island abode.
[SHENNU] "Hm. Well, they say he has taken on a ghastly appearance, despite being the divinity behind agriculture."
'Because of what he did to worship Bedolfir?'
[SHENNU] "Yes. Indeed. They believe he "submitted" his flesh to the earth and returned it to nature in ritualistic decomposition to ascend to Demigodhood. The act pleased Bedolfir, and so he promoted Jenk for this act of ultimate sacrificial charity. It meant that Jenk placed nothing higher than Hainei, and nature. Whilst humanity tries to conquer nature, Jenk has accepted his place as a component of it, and he firmly holds a belief that all things should adhere to it."
[WOLFBOY] "Y... You mean he's bony...?!"
[SHENNU] "I don't know. He could be. He decomposed while still alive."
'He lived through his own decomposition...?!'
[SHENNU] "As they say. He must have an extreme tolerance for pain. I imagine it was very painful for him. Everything that was apart of his body was donated to nature like that."
[WOLFBOY] "..." The childish Demigod animal beamed.
[SHENNU] "...If he happens to display bony features, you will NOT chew on any part of him, child." She scolded him.
[WOLFBOY] "Awww."
[MAJORDOMO] "Hey, hate to break up your smalltalk with sis, but look ahead."
I peered forward at a fork in the road, while I believed we were on our way to the place where Jenk was said to live. A farm up north, in close proximity to Aflheimr as he could afford in order to run this farm without his crops failing due to the winter.
I saw a sign that had been freshly painted and placed there at the fork.
[WOLFBOY] "Don't banits, left go ahead."
[SHENNU] "I believe it is supposed to read, "Don't go left, bandits ahead", child."
[WOLFBOY] "Hehe. Don't go banits, left ahead."
I really am nonplussed by the idea of bandits. If anything, a bandit would instantly regret seeing Wolfboy, any number of highwaymen, let alone me and Shennu.
I really should be beyond making a choice like this but... ah, this sign is obviously a trap. There are clearly bandits on the right. I can even sense them. They have the subtlety of a tank on treads, they do.
>Go left. Towards Jenk's Farm.
>Go right. Towards the Bandits... for whatever reason. Who knows. It may be funny.
