"And these are Maria and Juan" Mr. Esposito introduced with a warm smile, trying to ease the tension in the room. "I hope that the two of you can get along together until we finally deal with all of the Munchers."
"We're supposed to live with <span class="mu-i">this</span> guy?" The teenage boy tightened his filter mask and scoffed, clearly apprehensive. Like Fatima, Maria and Juan were newcomers, and you knew very little about them. "Aren't mutants like him the ones we're supposed to eliminate?"
"Dangerous," Maria murmured, barely audible.
"Now, now." Mr. Esposito chuckled, trying to ease the atmosphere "Around these parts, a lot of us are different, okay? Look, I got cat ears, and he's just huge. Nothing wrong with that."
"Yeah, but I've never seen a mutant with cat ears, but I have seen plenty of mutants like <span class="mu-i">him</span>." Juan retorted sharply. "I know how they can be. We had one just like him in our old town; can you guess why we had to leave?"
Mr. Esposito's voice took on a more resolute tone. "Juan, I know what happened, but let's put those concerns aside. Daniel is a good person, and you better get along."
"Can this guy even talk?" Juan quipped, a mocking tone in his voice. "Hello? Me Juan. Me, Juan. You? Can you talk like me?"
"Monster." Maria hissed as she pointed at your face. "<span class="mu-i">Stupid</span>".
