Bullets and rad-fire went from one side of the bay to the other as the battle raged on. The Blackstone that was upon the vessel had held true against the orkish attack but the steel that was installed by Lucius failed. Bits of metal from numerous blast doors were strung across the rooms as the Orks came rampaging into the room with a fury.
The Orks all gave a mighty roar as they charged forward into the carnage. Whatever sense of rationalism was sent away as their minds became devilishly barbaric upon entering the Blackstone Fortress. Though their sense of enjoyment did not seem to leave them as a great many of them laughed wherever the battle was reaching a sort of climax.
The amount of Orks who were upon that rock were in the tens of thousands. Unlike the Mechanicum which had numerous support assets the Orks enjoyed the fact that each and every one of their kind were able to pick up a sword and fight. For the Mechnicum they suffered immense losses of both Servitor and Serf as the Orks butchard them by the dozen.
None can say the Mechanicum was found unprepared though as several defense platforms began firing into the incursers. Automated turrets tore into the Orks killing a dozen at a time which caused the Orkoid herd to reach out and destroy the damnable weapons with a dangerous roar.
Such moments that held back the Orks were plenty enough as the Skitarii had already taken position and started firing into the Greenskin with a barrage of Radium and Galvanic fire. From behind them a series of automatons marched forward and with a release of full auto allowed a torrent of plasma to be sent through the air into the incoming horde.
The Orks did not care though that they were dying by the hundreds now. Not when the greatest of them all, an Ork who was twice the size of any of their kin walked above them and roared for the first time in their boarding their declaration.
<span class="mu-s">“WAAAAAAAGH!!!”</span>
With a declaration the Orks began to surge forth with a fury that the Mechanicum barely ever saw before. Each Ork ran as if they were infected with Daemons. If it was a moment earlier the Orks might have caused a complete rout, but from behind the Skitarii Astartes and Acillian stepped out and received the strike with their powered armor. Though under the sheer weight of Orks the attacks were becoming more and more powerful.
This was the moment that the last of the reinforcements came into view, the Knights of Dutonis watching the battle unfold before themselves.
