The maiden Fiamette returned once again from the cathedral with a strip of cloth. Petrit watched the maiden bind Wilhelm's wound, and said, "We must act now, while the army of the Dragon Lord is spread thin."
"Thank you," Wilhelm said to Fiamette, then looked from Petrit to the west, where he knew Mirabel waited. "A wagon of soldiers is being driven to the keep of the Wolf. They seek to take prisoner the maiden Mirabel, whom I have sworn to protect."
Petrit nodded. "I may have a plan."
"You were once a soldier," said Wilhelm to the shopkeeper Petrit. "I welcome your advice."
"Then ride," said Petrit, "Ride for the keep of the Wolf, and your maiden."
"What will you do?" Wilhelm asked the shopkeeper.
