>>5273227The day has arrived where the Professor and her escort of Black Eagle cadets will be heading into the Holy Tomb, under the guidance of Archbishop Rhea. Since you were not one of the students selected to make the journey with her, you instead have been granted the day off. When it comes to how you decide to spend your last bit of free time at Garreg Mach, it’s no surprise you wish to spend it together with Ashe. The two of you spend the day walking around the monastery, taking in the sights one last time and discussing with each other what your plans are for the future.
“I’ve been exchanging letters with Count Rowe, back in the Kingdom.” Ashe says. “He’s been overseeing the Gaspard territory alongside his own ever since Lonato’s death. After Lonato’s rebellion ended, he got in touch with me, and offered the opportunity to work as a Knight in his service. He’s even been taking care of my siblings, granting them shelter and an education.”
>“That’s great! You’ll be one step closer to your dream!”“That’s the plan. I’ll be training under Lord Gwendal. He’s one of the Kingdom’s greatest knights. They call him the “Gray Lion.” With any luck, some of his skill will rub off on me.” Ashe laughs nervously. “So, what about you? Have you decided what you’ll do?”
>“Barring any major catastrophes, I suppose I’ll just head back to Rusalka and see what the Count has in store for me.”Ashe nods. “It’s going to be rough being away from everyone. We’ve spent so much time together this year and faced so many obstacles. We’ll meet again, won’t we?”
>“Of course! Once things are settled back in Rusalka, I’ll come visit you. I’ve always wanted to see what the Kingdom is like. You can give me a tour! And I’d love to finally meet your siblings”“You bet! I’ll make sure I work hard with Lord Gwendal while I’m away. You and I made a promise to both become strong and valiant knights, and I’m gonna make sure I keep it! You’ll be impressed with how far I’ve come!”
>You smile. “I love the enthusiasm. In that case, I promise to work hard as well. You’ll barely recognize me the next time we meet!”“Oh, that reminds me.” Ashe reaches deep into his satchel for something. He pulls out what looks like a small figurine. The figure is in the shape of a Pegasus. Intricately carved, its wings are fully outstretched. You notice what looks like a small chain looped around it, indicating that it can be worn as a necklace. “I wanted to get you something before we left. It’s just a small gift.”
>“Ashe! It’s beautiful! And…it looks pricey! I hope you didn’t go through any trouble for me!”“Actually, I made it myself. I’ve been practicing. I-I hope you like it!” He says, looking away. A hint of a blush creeps onto his cheeks.
>You peck the boy on his cheek. “I love it. Thank you, Ashe. I’ll have something to keep you in mind while I’m away.”
