As a friendly tip to the artist, if you're here: you should try shading the... shadows... with a softer pencil lead, or a least press harder with what you've got like you did for the hard-edge lines. For the particular effect you're going for, the shadow where the heads are peeking out of should match or gradually approach the darkness of the darkest parts on the page, or at the minimum it should provide suitable contrast to the rest of the drawing (heads, environment).
