“So what do you think of our training?” AL4N asked his brother as they were both halfway down their mugs, “I know you accepted it but do you find it worth your time?”
“It was worth the lesson.” The Astarte first declared as he gave a solemn nod, “I find myself damned to ignorance for not knowing what I do know now about our own weapons.”
“As for your enjoyment?”
“It is clear that enjoyment in such things is not within my breeding.” Admitted Vadar as he took another drink, “Astartes are for the battlefield, while Father has built the Acillians to be those under the Mechanicum.”
“That would be correct.” TalOS admitted as he hummed to himself about things, “I however do not see an issue in either at the moment. After the Reconquest there will be enough data to determine whether having both is viable.”
The Astarte seemed to think to himself. He seemed to hesitate about what he was to ask before taking another drink of his mug, “What kind of changes could we expect?”
“Likely a mass reconstruction of either side's bodies.” TalOS declared as he thought out loud, “Any other method would result in a waste of manpower. I will not do what my Creator decided for his previous creations. I take it you were there.”
“I was. The Thunder Warriors exhibited gene instability that caused their minds to grow insane. It was evident from my limited experience with them that the Thunder Warriors would destroy their own Vessel before they arrived at a planet outside the solar system.”
“One cannot expect their first iteration of recreating Dark Age technology to go well. It saddens me to their fate but…”
“It needed to be done.” Answered Vadar as he gave a stern declaration, “Lord Malcador had tried other schemes but none of them could be done.”
With that their drinks were over, but the night had yet to end. TalOS simply refilled the drink for his sons and they continued for a few more hours with other more uplifting subjects.
While such calm times were needed, war had arrived.
