The home system of the Mitu, Kekai, waited in anticipation for the arrival of their greatest foes. One would be mistaken though that the Xenos had to keep themselves alert for several hours as while they knew the Reconquista would finally come to take them, but that the xenos of Kekai did not know when. They very much knew when, for in these moments they were able to see the full future before them.
And that future was death.
Turmoil was something that crossed through the populace as they tried to cope with the fact that their end was nigh. On the streets pastures of four gods cried out in an attempt to get last minute converts, thinking by swearing their civilization to their deities that they would be able to save themselves. Instead by doing their prothelitizing their lords they had welcomed the tide of police who were tasked with silencing them.
And in these final moments of the Mitu, as they faced oblivion, they began to fight over what was to be done about their immortal souls. Would they join the chorus of screaming souls or would they instead turn into nothingness.
As this battle raged on in the streets the military remained in the system. Many of them lied to the Scorch saying that they saw a chance of victory however small. Others simply wanted to make sure that the humans arriving in their system would feel pain before they snuffed out the Collective in this final action.
Denial and anger was what kept the military alive. Everyone knew that the fates stated them to die this day but they were not wanting to stand down. Though that was because they did not have enough time to roll into an acceptance of their fate.
As reality on the farthest side of the system cracked, the Mitu poised themselves and quickly began to advance upon the position. If they were to make the first strike, atleast to those still thinking there was a chance, they could survive.
The first object to come out the warp was but a hole in space. A massive black fortress floating towards them before it was surrounded by hundreds of other ships.
And with that the Mitu began firing as well as preparing a ritual.
