You're allowed to just... walk around with the products? It's a little surreal. The few stores on Level 5 are not like this. Usually, those are small buildings with a glass booth you're supposed to ask for what you want from the back; though it's only a place you visit once every few months when you need something you can't recycle or get for free from the government. It's a strange feeling to be trusted like this. You can already see how easy it'd be to steal from Mr.Smith here. You could just put any of these small things in your pockets. He isn't even watching you!
You look over the prices. This is supposed to be a thrift store on Level 4, right? Well... the prices are a little steep, but not that much different then Level 5 honestly. Food is pretty close, and a lot of these household items you can't even buy on Level 5, so it's not easily comparable. You grab a protien bar and, for one of the few times in your life, feel tempted to steal it. But you don't, just putting it back on the shelf. It wouldn't be right to steal from Mr.Smith, especially when he was so friendly and nice to you. You suppose, for Level 4, this is probably a very honest and cheap part of the city. Sixth Street seems like that. People have money and use it, unlike the rest of the Level, but it isn't as soulless and capitalistic. You like it. The subtle ambience of the coolers in the back of the store wash over you; and you finally feel relaxed.

Just then, a brick flies in through the window.
