You wake up with the gentle swaying of the carriage.
The cobbled road shook the transport little.
And still carrying the dizziness of awakening you crawled out of the makeshift bed and looked around.
Piecing together your mission, the last time you were awake felt so distant that it took you a while to remember.
But before the puzzle in your mind could be organized, a sharp pain coursed through your body.
Someone next to you elbowed you in the ribs.
"Morning princess, it took you long enough to wake up.
We thought you had died, and that would have been very anticlimactic.
We are in the middle of an adventure!"
Emilia was next to you, pale as always and chuckling.
You can't finish understanding what the elf is saying
"What happened?"
"Oh, we figured out how to make booze out of the Chimeras ammunition and you might have drank too much. You slept 20 hours straight."
You have no memory of what happened, but you really feel like you've slept for months.
You look at Emilia, and behind her genuine smile that you are still alive, you realize that there is something she is not telling you.
Her twitching ears and nervous hands inform you that she is probably more responsible for your momentary amnesia than what she would like to admit.
But you didn't care too much for now, so you asked about the mission.
"Have we arrived?"
"Yeah, we're a few minutes from the city." Emilia mentioned looking at the entrance of the wagon.
"We were waiting for you, you are supposed to charm the guards with your demonic appeal."
She said that to tease you, you remembered that Rakta was going to take care of the guards.
The pilgrim costumes and how ugly they were came to mind.
She stood up, dusting off her leather armor and extended a hand towards you.
"Come on, let's get some grub. I bet you're starving after hibernating."
