>F, J, C to Bond with Shot, with Beta for extra authority. Try to personally interview the meatlady
The three siblings are escorted to the army with Beta's help.
Various damaged meatmen are being patched up by other meatmen.
C: H-hey! A-attention, please! We want to talk!
J: The sooner you answer our questions, the sooner we leave you be.
F: Please be reasonable.
Several of the meat soldiers turn around. The advisor from before approaches.
ADVI: Yes? What is your business? We are busy recovering our lost soldiers.
C: We're here for a certain lady. A certain loud one, maybe?
ADVI: Ah. Yes. Her.
ADVI: HEY! THEY WANT YOU! COME OVER HERE ALREADY!
The horde shuffles away as a familiar woman approaches.
LADY: Yeah? What do you need?
J: Come with us. We need to talk to you. Away from the others.
LADY: I. I suppose if the general is busy, sure.
F: Follow.
The horde of meat soldiers watch warily as the lady is taken away from them.
ETF-β steps in to distract them.
β: While the facility was attacked by those filthy rangers, I'm glad you were so brave as to fight-
The three stop once they're around the corner.
J: Look. Let's cut to the chase, alright?
F: What do you know about the facility and Zeta?
LADY: Oh? That's all this is about? Uh, sure, not like the others like me.
LADY: So, Zeta. He was a hard worker. Really hard, he worked himself to the bone at basically everything.
LADY: But no matter how hard things became, he kept pushing forward. Even if he broke under the pressure.
LADY: It's hard to describe. I think he was trying to make up for something. Sacrificing himself for our sake.
J: Anything a bit more specific? We're on a time crunch, miss.
LADY: He always went down to the ninth floor to do something.
LADY: The Administrator always liked putting the dangerous stuff lower. And she put less and less effort in as well.
LADY: Even then, he kept going there. To spare us from something? To forget?
LADY: But there was never an anomaly there.
C: We have been seeing a lot of damage. H-how bad does it get?
F: I rather keep the death total to one important person.
LADY: She stopped caring after the fifth. She actively tried to get us killed after the eighth.
LADY: I know the boss was told to protect the facility by her but I don't know why. She never cared for protecting people.
J: Why not? The current one has been doing so and it has worked.
LADY: I dunno. QUOTA was all she cared for. Many died to satisfy it.
F: And so she did THAT with them?
The lady looks at the distracted horde.
LADY: I know he talks a lot but I don't think he understands anything he says. He only knows what she wan-
I don't need any help. Not from P-Corp, not from any other Corp.
I have all I need here. To fight to the bitter end.
Suddenly, the meat lady jolts. She swiftly leaves to go back to the horde.
C: Darn! We're out of time!
F: We can always return later. Retreat for now.
J: Didn't the 9th floor have something?
They exit.
