When one entered the system they would immediately know what they were coming into. For Psykers they feel it almost immediately, a primal fear of their soul about the to eaten by the planet that was before them. If a Psyker was not suffering from this they will notice that the warp was silent here, whatever maledy it inflicts being eaten by the planet that they were slowly approaching.
For mortals they will feel a creeping sensation cross through their bones. Thoughts wondering if they should even be here will go through their minds. Some with the weakest of the wills might try to find some way to escape from the approaching damnation that is before them.
Thus it is not uncommon for suicides to increase when within the system. Added to that was the rate of accidents as mankind lost whatever benefits an infantile psychic species might gain in chance or luck. Here they were stripped of that, and thus they were in the realm of the Machine God himself.
Xana, a planet already cursed by the foul powers, had its architecture change rapidly thanks to the presence that concealed it from the rest of the universe. New buildings were built in a brutal fashion with shadows prevalent about the surface. It gave the feeling of walking through a graveyard of damnation for those who dared wonder about it.
Most of the standard human populace of the planet had been dripped out. So many of the serfs and factory workers having fear of what was becoming of their world and what it previously was. With the chance to leave many of them took the first trade ships out of the system without any word to their masters.
The Masters of Xana did not care for this trouble though. These days their Serfs were a liability instead of an asset. What they needed was massive fleets of Servitors which were quickly afforded to their cause through the support of Lucius and the local Astartes Legions that were fighting in the region.
They arrived upon this planet, both TalOS and Ahriman, much to the later’s ever present fear of what was to become of this adventure.
