'HAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!'
My final kick sent his deformed armet flying off of his head. Sivil was on his hands and knees before me. He couldn't hold his golden sword, he simply let it go.
[MAJORDOMO] "Alright, he's had enough. I'm backing off."
'...ah!' I gasped.
I lowered my fists, looking at him in his brutalized position. He wouldn't open his eyes, or perhaps it was painful to try.
[SIVIL] "..."
'...I... I'm sorry, I-'
[SIVIL] "Do not speak!" He suddenly yelled out: "...I would have done the same thing to you."
It felt like a lie.
[SIVIL] "You've defeated me. My body doesn't want to respond anymore. I can't feel it. I can see my Death. Had I been any normal person, I'd have dropped several seconds ago."
I'd never seen a Mortal last against a Death Knell this powerful before in my life. The sight before me was almost unbelievable. Yet, it would only take a mere flick to finish him off at this point.
[SIVIL] "Finish me."
'No.'
[SIVIL] "..."
I won't do it.
[SIVIL] "If you do not finish me off here, I will simply recover. I will be sent after you again one day, and the next time, I will win."
[LUDWYHN] "Hgnnk!"
Ludwyhn choked behind me from his slit throat. I looked and saw him staring at me with pleading eyes past his war mask. He had crouched down to avoid getting caught in the midst of our fight, and his subliminal message was a pleads to end this man, this 'Sivil'. To kill one of the Trinity's strongest warriors.
[SIVIL] "You should heed him. You'd find no mercy had our positions been exchanged."
'You don't even believe yourself.'
[SIVIL] "You already mauled me. Even the strongest mortal is still weaker... than a true god."
'I was protecting the life of a friend.'
[SIVIL] "Then you know I intended fully well to kill him... how can you doubt it when I say I'd do the same for both of you?"
'Because that's not how you truly feel about it. I can't sense that kind of malice in your psyche.'
Sivil's shut eyes twitched.
[SIVIL] "Even if you spare me, there's no guarantee my superiors will. I can't leave them. They're the only ones that... only they can help me. Nobody else can."
>"Then take your chances if you wish to. We're going now. Come Ludwyhn, let's go home."
>"If only you'd just talk, then we would never have had to come this far, human."
>"I won't kill you, but I'm not letting you go back either so they can. You're coming with me."
>Write in.
