>Let it be. Allow Cutemon to get his rest, and then see how things shape up when Wind is back. You don't distrust them to the point where you're going to sabotage relations between them and Cutemon. Maybe they'll be reasonable about it after all.
You consider it for a moment, but eventually decide to leave the situation alone. Maybe they’ll do something shady, maybe not. No sense speaking up and tearing a rift before anything even happens.
“Where will they stay?” You ask.
“I’ve got just the place! Come on little guy, with me, I-“
Squid starts reaching out towards the Digimon again, either unaware or completely uncaring of the death glare it’s shooting her. You can’t imagine it making good on its threats, but you decide not to risk it.
“Actually,“ you interrupt, “I need to talk to you for a bit. Can’t ToyAgumon show them to their room instead?”
He looks at you when he’s mentioned, and you see hope in his big sticker eyes. He wants to get Squid away from these guys as soon as he can, so she doesn’t do something you’ll all regret. And yet, he looks terrified of the Cutemon.
”I could! It would be for the best, lemme handle it! But I need Phascomon to come with me. Y’know, to help with-“
”Say no more, I hear you. Marnie, be back in a jiffy.”
Phascomon catches on immediately, and trots over to ToyAgumon to help him guide the guests to their chambers. With your partner there to assist, hopefully nobody’s fingers will get chopped off.
"Do I need to be here for this?" Ryan asks.
You shake your head, prompting him to head towards the door. Soon enough, you and Squid are left all by yourselves. With the excitement of a brand new Digimon gone, her enthusiasm fades just a smidgen, and she collapses onto a chair. She spins around in a circle, beginning to chatter without making eye contact, as usual.
"Been a while, Marnie. Did everything go okay?"
"Yeah, pretty smoothly. Listen, I've got a file that I need help cracking. I'm paranoid that it's bugged, can you use the Virtual Machine?"
You hand her Hoverespimon's present. She rolls her chair across the floor, nearly toppling over a taped-down cable when the wheels hitch, and inserts it into the remote chamber, which is now devoid of any active projects.
"It'll take a bit to load! You can tell me all about your little mission in the meantime."
