It was then that TalOS heard a click coming from the black box. The machine had primed itself and was ready to play whatever recording the Fabricator General of Lucius had prepared. Getting a feeling of what he should do TalOS made his way towards the massive torrent of fire and placed the box before the creation. It clicked for another moment before a hologram was displayed before TalOS and the rest of the people.
It was a perfect image as within seconds the color solidified and it looked like the Fabricator General himself. Smaller than TalOS and carrying a cane of unknown capabilities the Hologram moved around the room as if scannings its contents for itself to see.
It then faced the fire and the Machine Spirit inside the box clicked.
+Arch Explorator Mezoa, so this is your fate.+ The Fabricator General explained as he looked upon the flames, +Through trial and effort you had settled upon an unknown world and built up an entire Forge World with your ideals. Yet unlike myself you have perished due to some damned Xenos or spawn of the other realm. A shame.+
There was a moment of silence from the Holovid as if the machine was mourning the man’s passing. Everyone around, including TalOS, felt it appropriate to join the silence. Moments later the hologram looked up at the fire and began something TalOS never thought he would hear.
+YOU DAMN FIRE PHILANDERING IDIOT! I TOLD YOU TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT THIS WAS GOING TO BE YOUR FATE THE MOMENT YOU TRIED TO TAMPER WITH THE STAR CORE! THEN YOU COME TO ME SAYING YOU CAN REPRODUCE THE STAR AND THAT YOU JUST NEEDED A FLEET TO DO IT! WELL LOOK AT YOUR DUMB ASS YOU GOT YOUR FLEET, GOT STRANDED, AND GOT KILLED!+[/B]
The next few moments were filled with a series of profanities that TalOS had to take a few moments to process and understand. Whatever they were, they were those that only a man of his age would know. It was still obvious they were profanities because they were all being put on full blast across the room.
+Idiot. You could have waited.+ The Fabricator General said while giving another moment’s silence, +A thousand years was too long of a wait for you it seems.+
A moment after this everything became clear to TalOS and everyone in the room. Whoever Mezoa was he must have been some kind of friend to the Fabricator General. A friend that allowed his work to go ahead of himself and took a chance that should not have been taken.
Odd seeing a man that TalOS had such an immense respect for act like that. If TalOS could not feel the truth it would have been a diplomatic blunder to have allowed this to play. But it gave something TalOS could never make.
Memories of an era long gone.
