“What kind of monsters are they?”
“The Mask Maker is a Limbo demon and a skilled practitioner of black magic, despite her young age. And the other is a Tulpa—a personal creation of the Kaiju King. He is an energy being that thrives on electricity.”
A Limbo demon and a Tulpa? That's not something you see everyday. And what's this about a “Kaiju King”? Kaiju is just Japanese for “giant monster”, right? Just how big is this Tulpa, then?
“Are they the type to cause trouble?”
“Not on purpose.” Shaggy admitted.
That didn't exactly fill you with confidence.
“How'd you lose track of them if you came here together?”
“As soon as we arrived, the Mask Maker caught wind of a monster that escaped captivity and fled to your realm. She and the Tulpa gave chase, while I went to fetch you.”
“What kind of monster was it?” you asked.
“An old alien named Gorgolla. He's a silicon-based lifeform with skin hard as stone. A bad match-up for Hi-Vo.”
“Who?”
“The Tulpa.”
“Right. The energy-based one. Ana can help us track them down.”
“What's going on?” Ana asked.
“We've got three monsters on the loose, and Shaggy here needs our help to find them.” you explained.
“Can he take us to the last place he saw them?”
Shaggy nodded to her, and a moment later, a webline attached itself to his collar.
“If we're going on a walk, you're gonna have to start wearing a leash.” Ben said, finally rejoining the conversation. “Can't have the neighbors complaining.”
Shaggy's ears drooped and he shot you a sideways glance, but he didn't give voice to the protests that he undoubtedly held.
“We just have to make sure that we avoid passing BVA.” you said.
You could only imagine the kind of rumors that were forming from this little incident. You were starting to think that you were pretty bad at keeping a low profile.

About an hour later, you and Ben were following Shaggy and Ana’s lead in tracking down those monsters. You got a few weird looks for being in full costume in broad daylight, but you ignored them and kept facing forward.
“Hey,”
You glanced over at Ben. He'd been oddly quiet up until this point.
“You okay?”
You nodded weakly.
“Yeah. I've just been thinking…”
“What about?”
It was honestly hard to narrow it down.
>”I'm trying to figure out what I should say to my grandma when I see her. I don't know if I should yell at her or have a touching family reunion.”
>”Shaggy said that I didn’t smell completely human. What if I've been a ‘monster’ all this time?”
>”Why don’t we talk about how you're doing? You seemed pretty upset earlier.”
>”My grandmother knows about what happened to my parents. To her own daughter. And she's acting like she doesn't care!”
>"It's nothing. I'll tell you later."
>Write-in.
