>>5344360Rather than throwing another Tomahawk, Jaswant began closing the distance, switching back to his spear and racing up the sky to meet you. As you were bleeding out, barely able to sit atop your companion, something snapped. You lost control of your temper for the first time in years. This Almyran piece of shit was toying with you! He could have killed you at any time but chose to make sport of it for his men. And after you were splattered on the ground, he’d likely kill your Blackwings! How dare he! Who the hell did he think he was?!
As Jaswant continued flying upwards, he outstretched his lance forward, ready to split you in half. With one last ditch effort, you raised your exhausted left arm up towards the sky, using your last remaining energy to summon forth the largest Bolting spell you ever had, just as Jaswant was right within minimum range. The bolt of thunder shot out, but instead of hitting him, it made direct contact with that ornate lance of his. The bolt travelled down the spear shaft, electrocuting Jaswant and paralyzing him mid-flight. Rider and steed roared in agonizing pain, as Jaswant was unable to let go of his weapon. You did not let up the spell, putting more and more power into it, until finally, the exquisite spear heated up, and exploded into dozens of pieces. Jaswant and his Wyvern burst into flames, hovering in mid-air for a few seconds, until they both fell far down to the earth below.
None that were present could believe what they had seen. A dull silence followed, before the Blackwings erupted into overwhelming cheering. Your mercenaries flew forward, surrounding your position and securing you and Beathan before you could follow the Warlord to the ground below. The Almyrans were in an uproar. They were booing and denouncing you and your men. They called you a coward. A whore. A witch. Your last thought was how rude they were, before passing out in Corrine’s arms, who had commandeered her own wyvern.
When you awoke, the battle was over. Claude had somehow managed to pull a stratagem out of his hair that ended Shahid’s life and sent the Almyran’s packing back over the mountain pass. Your arm had been tended to by Elizabeth and was on the mend, and you were resting within a castle in Goneril territory. Claude himself ensured that you were to be taken care of and nursed back to full health. When you were good enough to stand and wander the grounds, you were met with raucous cheers from not just the Blackwings, but from the Leicester soldiers. In recognition of your accomplishments, Claude had awarded you with an Elysian Whip. An esteemed honor, the Elysian Whip signified that you had achieved the highest rank a Pegasus Knight could reach. You were now considered a Seraph Knight, much like Serena had been before you.
You asked Corrine if the Blackwings had been able to secure Jaswant’s Delphi Shield. Unfortunately, along with his spear, you had fried the shield to the point of uselessness. Oh well.
