“We’re going to time it when the X-Force isn’t in Konigsburg.” Matt speaks up. “There’s a lot of stuff on the news that implies they’re going to make a move on Maranzano soon or later. That’s all the way in New York.”
“And pray tell, how do you actually know when they’ll go?” Valjean looks highly skeptical of Matt’s proposition. “There’s no way in hell they’d make that public.”
“Ermac and I monitor the livestreams of the road leading out of FutureLabs.” Matt states, as if that explained everything. “There’s only one road in and out of FutureLabs, and we’ve noticed that every time the X-Force makes a move, they don’t use regular police vans. Look–” He holds out the phone, Eddie’s trademark glow being replaced with snapshots of the streetcam footage.
“That’s a prisoner transport van…” Valjean whispers, eyes lighting up in recognition. How he seems to know that on instant is beyond you, but you don’t question it for now.
“Yeah no shit– those guys are still property of FutureLabs at the end of the day– but usually it’s one or two vans at a time for small things. Stuff that makes them look good on television.” Matt explains. “So when they’re finally making their move on Maranzano, we’ll definitely know.”
“Cause they’ll be bringin’ the whole calvary too, right?” Bernard chimes in. “Can’t imagine they wouldn’t want some normal backup as well just to set an example.”
“Exactly.” Matt nods. “But that’s when we’ll make our move.”
