And just as expected, the option was given to you again.
The Shellstrike Gauntlets were pretty useful. The ability could help you intimidate others. Though to be fair you'd also feel pretty scared if a fully charged shotgun's blast threatened to blow half your face off. However it had a weakness; only its punching ability could be used when fighting indoors or in areas that could easily collapse on you—the misadventure in the goblin cave came to mind. But at its fullest potential it helped you kill large clusters of bandits with it's explosive charge. Also the cool factor deserved a mention.

It granted you the choice even though less weeks than before had passed. You wondered what that was about.
Feeling a familiar presence, you turn to see Mel skipping and humming while going in and out of her invisibility.
"Hey, Mel." You say. Some time ago you might've been startled, but by now you expected your overly-positive freckled beguiler doing this type of light practice to keep her mana active. "How's trapping the port going?"
"Heya, Master! It's been going great! Sorta!" She waves, approaches you, winks, smiles, and does a finger gun. A bit awkward, but also cute. "Lookin' good! You checking out your status?"
"Sure am." Again you weren't surprised that she figured it out just so quickly. "It gave me the choice to swap out my [Custom Special] for something else."
"Cool." Said she. "Speaking of, do you know how you got that ability?"
"What, [Custom Special]?" She nods. You thought about it. "Not really, I just sort of had it. Why?"
"Most people don't even have it or realize they got it. Or they just straight up don't know how to use it if they do. I mean I used to think it was a special Savant thingy, but then I remembered hearing that it's a teachable ability." Mel said, much to your interest. "Dunno if that's accurate or even how to do it, though."
That did sound like something you'd like to look into. Was it some sort of unlockable ability that everyone could potentially have? Or was it one of those class abilities, considering you're a hybrid class and you had it?
