The bamboo forest is pretty intimidating, to be perfectly honest. These endless amounts of stalks surrounding every direction are almost like nature's very own prison bars, keeping you locked in and caged. It felt like there was no escape. Something about this forest... just made it feel futile, like anyone walking their way into here willingly was destined to get lost, for eternity.
All you see are bamboo stalks, more bamboo stalks, grass, bamboo stalks, some rocks... sand, more bamboo stalks... water...
Water? Wait! Water! Aha! You knew you had the right idea! There it is! Water, a flowing stream of water in the middle of the bamboo forest! Coming through a small assortment of mossy rocks jutting out the ground, from a mini waterfall that wasn't too far up ahead.
And a man too.
Oh? Another person? Thank god, you didn't think you'd see another human for a long time now, but lo and behold a man kneeling down to drink from the stream. It's just that... he looked a bit, er... rustic? Was he some kind of oriental?
"Heh- ... Hello?"
He looked up at you and squinted, taking a second to rub his eyes as if in disbelief. From this distance, you could have thought he was doing anything, either staring at you in bewilderment, or sizing you up from afar for any reason. For a moment, you're afraid he won't understand you, in terms of linguistics at least, since the way he looked definitely confirmed you were on foreign soil or something. But, he does speak up.

He's calling you forward, off the bat. You take a few steps ahead towards him, but stop. You finally notice it, what looks to be a long and sharp knife carried by his belt. You're not sure you trust this so much now...
