Once you're almost at the summit, your climb bears fruit. You see a gap in the building with a balcony extending outwards. The partition entrance is a spinning blue point of light, leading into the upper half of the tower. You don't know how long it would have taken to climb from the inside, but you doubt it would have been faster than this. It was unfortunate that Astamon got hurt from the patrol, but at least there aren't any other-
<span class="mu-s">"Marnie. Incoming."</span> Astamon says, his voice tight.
You look up and feel a chill overwhelm you. An sinuous shape is blotting out the sky, moving towards you at an incredible speed. Its arms are extended to either side, bearing claws that could swallow the both of you up in one move. No other Digimon accompany the purple titan. It's here for you, all by itself.
Gigadramon is coming.
"WE HAVE TO CLIMB!"
Astamon speeds up, heading towards the partition that you've sighted. The burst of speed hurts him, and he abruptly jerks to the side.
"Astamon!"
<span class="mu-s">"That damn moth! The damage went deep... I can't-"</span>
Gigadramon roars, but it doesn't seem like it's able to attack you. Such a creature surely has ranged weapons, but it isn't using them while you're this close to its leader's lair. You have slightly more time.
"We have to go!"
<span class="mu-s">"I know! Take this!"</span>
He hands you his weapon. It's a lot bigger than its OOPART equivalent now that he's Digivolved, and it's meant to fit into his hands perfectly. You struggle to use it, but you're able to aim in the distant Digimon's direction and shoot. You can't even tell if any of the bullets are reaching it. Gigadramon makes no attempt to dodge either, it just keeps moving in a straight line, trying to snatch you up before you can enter the tower.
