“The Mirage Hotel sounds like it’d be the most accessible.” you declared. “I doubt they’ll have the time or inclination to screen every single one of their guests before allowing them entry. What about you? Who’re you personally interested in doing business with?”
Silvio pushed off of his desk and started walking back towards you, his hands held behind his back. “Probably Da Costa. He seems to be the most agreeable out of the bunch, and he’s got a mind for business. Plus, I’ve heard that he and Munoz are on good terms, so if you can somehow pull this off, then maybe we can help each other out.”
Well, that was just music to your ears! Let’s hope that this Gloria Munoz was as agreeable as her friend Roberto.
“What’s your plan for getting them to warm up to you, anyway?” Silvio asked.
You shrugged. “I haven’t gotten that far yet. I doubt we could bribe them with anything, so I’ll most likely end up taking a few jobs from them in order to win their favor.” you answered honestly. “Hopefully it won’t be anything too time-consuming, costly or back-breaking, but it’s almost guaranteed to be exactly that.”
Silvio grimaced. “It won’t be easy, that’s for sure. Depending on the kind of deal you’re trying to make with them, they’ll either ask for a whole lot of favors, or a big one that they think you won’t be able to make good on. Worst case, they’ll think that you’re too small-time to even want to do business with you, but I don’t see that happening.”
Neither did you. With Silvermane and Ana’s backing, there weren’t a whole lot of doors that you couldn’t pry open in the criminal underworld. But, it was a distinct possibility. You were in uncharted territory here. There was barely a frame of reference for you to go by when it came to these guys.
“Then I guess I’ll just have to prove ‘em wrong every step of the way.”
A proud grin crept its way onto Silvermane’s lined face. “Atta boy.”

After promising Silvermane that you wouldn’t drag your feet in Vegas, you made a mental note to try and convince either Gloria or Roberto to contact him in the hopes of doing business with one another. You had no actual idea what either of them could do for him or Ana, but both seemed confident that they controlled a considerable amount of power in Las Vegas. As to the nature of that power beyond cold, hard cash, you would have to wait and find that out from Ana. Silvio was well-informed, but he could only get so far when it came to matters outside of his city.
He made sure to leave you with information on the informants he had stashed away in the city, as well as little hiding spots and weapon caches for emergencies. Hopefully, you wouldn’t need them, but it was still nice to know.
