Technically, you are merely an expeditionary leader—a modified and false ‘Dragonborn’ leading an expedition to crush some seditious kobolds before they could draw untoward attention from surface-scum and expose your people’s ancient secrets. Your mission ahs evolved beyond that, though. YOU have evolved beyond that.
“I am The Copper Dragon of Bloodrise,” you pronounce, “the Chosen of the Dark Gods, the new lord of this realm, come to reclaim my ancestors' holdings!”
The Bugbear Boss makes that awful, raspy laughing sound again.
“That is a lot of words,” he said. “I am not to call you that.”
You tilt your head, and suggest instead: “I will settle for ‘Boss’, then.”
The bugbear leader scowls, then shrugs.
“Copper it is,” he says. “Somehow expected dragon to be… Bigger.”
You return to your retinue under the escort of the Bogbarri, including their ‘Boss’. The two camps are wary of one another in a way that even the Drow were not, for there is blood between your two factions. Agno and Ivno in particular steer far away from these strange, spined creatures, and Ivno tells you of the terror that beings like this have wrought over the centuries upon kobolds as well. You see several of the bugbears eying your two smallest allies ravenously, but their leader cuffs them and barks orders in a harsh tongue—not dwarf-tongue, or dark-elven, but something else—and they keep their hands and teeth to themselves.
