>>5800568She chuckles softly to herself, running a hand through her hair. Coming from anyone else, you’d think they were being cocky, but Eleanor’s confidence has you sure she isn’t just speaking out of ego. “We’d take only the most dangerous missions, flying out in the dead of winter at night, and come back fully in-tact. The only evidence we’d ever been there would be the trail of corpses left in our wake. There isn’t a pegasus knight in all the Dukedom that could match us.”
>“And what about you?”“I’m a former knight of Galatea. It’s where most pegasus knights in Faerghus received their training. Knighthood was well and good, but Galatea is a poor territory, and I simply desired more. After several years in service to the lord there, I struck out on my own to form a mercenary company.”
>“Ingrid Galatea currently rides with us. Do you know her?”“Little Ingrid? Truly?” Eleanor exclaims. Even when supposedly shocked, she still has a cool, mature air about her. “I haven’t seen her since she was just a child. I’d feared she died during the battle in Gronder, but you’re saying she’s truly alive? Ahh, bless the Goddess, what wonderful news. On my way south, I’d spoken with her father who feared greatly for her safety. He’ll be relieved to know she still walks among the living.”
“Eleanor will bring with her over 30 pegasus knights to our cause.” Corrine chimes in. “As she said, each one is an experienced veteran.”
“Just say the word, Blair, and I’ll rally my women to your cause-“
“Oy!” A loud voice interrupts Eleanor mid-sentence. It belongs to a large man clad in red armor who has barreled his way into the tavern and is now heading directly towards you. The barkeep from before does his best to try and hold him off, but to no avail. He eventually falls to the ground, and the man deftly steps over him. He moves to stand next to Eleanor and points a finger at her accusingly while facing you. “Are you daft?! Ain’t no way you’re thinking of picking this dainty little princess over Daryun the Red!”
“What a brute of a man.” Eleanor scoffs. “Who do you think you’re-“
“I just told you; you pampered perfumed pup!” Daryun shouts. “I’m Daryun the Red! Leader of the Desert Vultures, and future Warlord of Almyra! Memorize it, for you shall be hearing word of my deeds soon!” He turns back towards you, arms crossed. “Good to see you again, Witch! It’s been a while, but you look every bit as modest as I remember!”
>“Is that supposed to be a compliment? And I’ve never met you in my life. Who are you supposed to be?”
