Envoys are sent to each of the tribes. They go with a clear message: Anyone who continues to deal with the Toprocravic is not a friend of the Protavic people. An emissary is sent to the sealskins as well, to inform them that the beast-bringers want nothing to do with them. Any Vuvovic who aren't out on expeditions into the Grascan are stationed along our tribe's border with the Toprocravic, to ensure that the sealskins stay out of Protavic land.
The messenger sent to the Rodac is the first to return, and he carries good news – the stone men will honour their friendship with the beast-bringers and refuse to trade with the Toprocravic from now on, though they regret that they had to choose between their two closest allies. Not long after that, the envoy that was sent to the Scagravic comes back with a similar promise from the tree-dwellers. It isn't like they barter with anyone other than the Protavic in the first place, so they lose nothing.
Unfortunately, the emissary sent to the light-bringers eventually returns with bad news – the Drocravic have chosen to side with the Toprocravic and will no longer be trading with our tribe. While their neighbour might have recently been conquered by the sealskins, they were already on poor terms with the Protavic. Perhaps they believe that if they align themselves with the boatmen, they will not need to worry about being conquered.
As for the envoy sent to the Bodravic, he returns with a report of indecision from the wood-burners. While they are afraid of being conquered by their Rodac neighbours and they might seek to appease them, they are undoubtedly aware that their light-bringing allies have sided with the sealskins. They have a difficult decision to make and they seem eager to put it off for as long as possible.
Finally, there are the the sealskins themselves – the messenger that our tribe sent to them doesn't return at all. However, the sudden absence of Toprocravic traders makes it clear that they received the message, which means that the envoy was likely executed. That is their answer.
Our tribe could sweeten the deal with the wood-burners. An onslaught of gifts should hopefully be enough to convince them to side with the Protavic.
Our tribe could condemn the indecision of the Bodravic. By making enemies out of the wood-burners, our tribe may strengthen its bond with the Rodac.
Our tribe could wait for an answer from the wood-burners. While the Protavic cannot afford to bribe them, there is no need to push them into the arms of the sealskins.
Our tribe could declare war on the sealskins. This is the ideal moment to launch an attack. Not all of the Vuvovic are currently available, but our tribe cannot afford to wait.
