You stopped your new friend from overfeeding the fox and reminded her about eating sparingly. Are you really being nice if you have so much food to give already? Your new friend agrees and apologizes, so she ripped a bit of her riceball off before feeding it to the fox. Still, the fox continued to stare at you all, expecting more to eat, but you all resisted the temptation to give it anymore, though pats were not out of the question.
When the sun passed its highest point and the weather cooled down, you said your goodbyes to your new friends and went off. The fox stayed where you all once were, and not before long did it leave your sight. You continued on the path to the next village, but Puki suggested taking a different path to do some sightseeing. Because she knew the surrounding area better than any of you, you all agreed and followed her elsewhere.
Straying off the regular path, you followed a stream into some woods where squirrels welcomed you with some acorns you might be able to mash another time. The stream eventually enters a ravine and you come across a camp set up by other Youthies who seem to dress as eccentric as Puki; long sharp teeth, dark edgy clothes, blacked out eyes. They and Puki were familiar with each other, and although Kari was creeped out by them, Bubu seemed to not mind.
They were fishing in the stream so that they could fillet their catches themselves and eat them themselves. You know there is a specific tradition for filleting fish and this act creeped you out a bit.
<span class="mu-i">"Although the fish were Ours to eat as a gift from the Great Fish, We are still saddened to draw its blood as it reminds Us of Ours. Whenever We prepare a fish to consume, We should always be sensitive and conduct Our business behind covers out of respect. It is not something to be observed by others who have no business, and is something to shield from Little Ones."</span>
Every village has a site for filleting fish, generally avoided unless committed to filleting fish. Even your parents have gone off to the little tent to do some filleting. You have never been asked to watch and learn as that is something to be learned on your journey. These Youthies, who were as old as you, were filleting fish out in the open for their peers to watch. They seemed to be a bit too obsessed with watching, but at least they only do it when they're hungry.
Kari avoids looking at the filleting, though Bubu, being strange, watches it less with fascination but more out of curiosity for these strangers. You...
>Avert your eyes.
>Scold everybody and tell them to stop doing it so nonchalantly.
>Watch with fascination.
>Ask if you can try.
